A jam band is a group of musicians who come together to play music in a free-flowing and improvisational style. The core essence of jam bands lies in the art of “jamming.” When a jam band plays, they build on a basic song structure but leave plenty of room for experimentation and exploration. Musicians take turns playing solos, experimenting with different melodies, rhythms, and harmonies, all while maintaining a cohesive groove.
